Saige. (Part 1)

So, as I'm sure you've all heard by now, this is Saige, GOTY 2013.
She is one of the most unoriginal dolls ever, although she is pretty. She comes with a turquoise ring, flower shaped earrings, a blue dress, and the cutest boots EVER. I think having a ring is a unique thing with dolls and I like how she has her ears pierced. Her eyes are a really pretty shade of turquoise.
Her meet outfit. I would wear this. When (if?) I get her, this meet outfit is going to be fought over amongst my dolls. This would look gorgeous on any one of them. I think it would look really pretty on McKenna, except mine is sulking at the moment and throwing tantrums about Saige replacing her and would probably refuse to wear it.
This is her with her hair down. I love her curls, although can someone say "Nicki clone"? The hair is just longer and redder. That's like the only difference in her hair. They both have freckles, they both like horses, they both have somewhat big breeds of dogs. Can American Girl not be more original? I wanted the GOTY to have either short dark brown hair, dark green eyes, classic face mold, and Mia's freckle pattern or dark skin, curly hair (think #46) with bangs, the Addy face mold, and amber eyes. I think either of those would have been more original than Saige.
Her accessories are adorable. I love the necklace, bracelet, and earrings. The purse could be a little bit bigger (girls carry around satchels that are bigger than this) and the set could have been a little bit cheaper.
The hot air balloon. One of the most argued-about AG releases of the year besides Saige herself. I personally really want this set. How many doll hot air balloons are you going to see? I like that it's not overly high priced (I was expecting it to be at LEAST $300) and I like that it comes with accessories. The binoculars and camera are nice for people like me who weren't into AG in 2010 and 2011 and missed out on Lanie's binoculars and Kanani's camera. The maps are a nice idea, although young children might rip them. If I get this set, my 5 year old cousin is not going anywhere near those pieces. The little bag looks like it would be nice to keep the things in. I wish they could pick a different color because the red makes it look a bit like a first aid kit.
Her doggie! This is like my favorite thing in Saige's collection. He is just SO ADORABLE. Well, I do have a soft spot for border collies because I used to have one, but he is coming home. I have nothing bad to say about this fluffy little guy. I am Rembrandt's #1 fan.
I also really like Saige's painting set. I love how the paintings are on real canvas and how the easel is foldable. I just wish that it would come with some paintings that were not completed so girls could pretend that their doll was "painting".

I'm going to finish reviewing Saige's collection in part two, but I just have one last thing. Her tagline is a spirited girl whose passions inspire action. The spirited girl part seems really familiar. I'm going to look and see which doll that part was originally from.
